Account deletion
Handy Map users can delete their account directly from the mobile app. This page explains the steps, what happens to account data, and how to contact support if you cannot access the app.

How to delete your account in the app
You must be signed in to delete your Handy Map account from inside the app.
- Open Handy Map.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, Handy Map removes, deletes, or anonymizes account-related data where supported by the app and backend.
- Account profile data.
- Authentication-related profile records.
- User contribution metadata where applicable.
- User-generated content where deletion is supported by the app or backend.
- Feedback or reports where legally and operationally possible.
Some public contributions may be anonymized instead of fully removed when they are needed to preserve map integrity or community context.
What may be retained
Some data may be retained for a limited period when needed for safety, compliance, or service integrity.
- Security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.
- Legal compliance or dispute handling.
- Backup, log, and operational retention.
- Preserving public map integrity when a user-submitted place has been used, reviewed, or relied on by others.
If you cannot access the app
If you cannot sign in or cannot access the Delete Account button, you can contact support at handy.map.app@gmail.com to request manual account deletion.
Please contact us from the email address associated with your Handy Map account when possible. We may need to verify that you own the account before processing the request.
Data deletion requests without deleting your account
If you want to request deletion of specific content without deleting your entire account, contact support and describe the content you want reviewed.
Partial deletion requests are handled case by case, depending on what the app and backend can support and whether the content must be retained or anonymized for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or public map integrity.
